Rejlek at Fakuma 2023

In October, the Rejlek team attended Fakuma 2023, the international trade fair for plastics processing, in Friedrichshafen — the most important trade fair for our company all year. Not only did we have the opportunity to reconnect with long-standing partners, but we also had the chance to engage prospective new customers with the value our company offers and to present the latest developments to an international audience.

As in previous years, it was both a great pleasure and a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and showcase our extensive range of services and high level of technical expertise at Fakuma 2023. In addition to our key technologies, which enable us to develop intelligent solutions and optimize supply chains in collaboration with our customers, we had a special highlight this time: the introduction of the brand-new Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) technology to our injection molding range. We were excited to present and demonstrate this addition on site for the very first time.

LIQUID SILICONE RUBBER (LSR) AND ITS ADVANTAGES

Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) represents an outstanding enhancement to Rejlek’s suite of offerings. This innovative technology stands apart from traditional injection molding with its unique processing requirements and a host of benefits. LSR’s composition includes low-viscosity linear polysiloxanes, along with various fillers and additives. Unlike the cold molds used in thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) injection molding, the LSR process utilizes hot molds. The two-component system is mixed, and the liquid material is injected into the mold, where it is cured with heat.

One of the significant advantages of LSR is its cross-linked structure, granting it enhanced resistance properties. It outperforms in both temperature and chemical resistance compared to thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). These superior qualities of LSR open a new realm of applications and possibilities, especially for product requirements in medical technology and a wide range of other sectors.
